The male-male tunnelling / drifting rods are available in numerous design configurations are available for tunnelling /drifting hex or round cross sections (25H, 28H, 32H, 32R, 35H, 39R) in thread size up to R38 / R32 in various lengths up 21 ft (6.4m).

The male-female design configuration eliminates the need for a separate coupling, resulting in fewer threaded connections, reduced hole deviation, and faster additions/removals to the drill string.
